TourCard

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

TourCard is a golf app: you post your rounds, they are ranked against other golfers, and you can rate the courses you play. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else can see it, and how to get rid of it.

The short version: we collect the golf information you choose to enter, plus an email address so you can log in. We do not track you, we do not run advertising, we have no analytics or advertising SDKs in the app, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

This app is operated by Matt Kasiman (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email hello@tourcard.app.

1. What we collect

WhatWhyRequired?
Email address To create your account, sign you in, and let you recover access. Yes
Display name Shown next to your scores on leaderboards and on your reviews. Yes
Home city, GHIN number Optional profile details you may add. The GHIN number is self-reported and is not used to calculate anything. No
Rounds you post The course, tee, date played, and your score — plus putts, fairways hit, greens in regulation, and hole-by-hole strokes if you enter them. This is the core of the app: it drives leaderboards, weekly challenges, matches, and your estimated handicap index. No, but the app does little without it
Course reviews and ratings Your 1–5 rating, any tags, and any written note, so other golfers can decide where to play. Reviews can be linked to a round you posted as proof you actually played there. No
Friends and friend requests To show a friends-only leaderboard and an activity feed. No
Matches you play Who played whom, the format, and the result, so head-to-head records work. No
Badges and rankings you earn Your trophy case and your course ranking list. No

Your location

If you tap “Near me” on the course map, the app asks for your approximate location and uses it to sort courses by distance from you. Your location is used to answer that request and is not stored on your account, not written to our database, and not retained after the request is served. You can decline the permission and the map still works — it simply shows every course instead of the closest ones. The app never accesses your location in the background.

What we do not collect

2. What other golfers can see

TourCard is a competitive app, so some of what you post is public by design. Please read this section before you post.

Visible to other golfers using the app:

Never shown to other golfers:

If you delete a round, it disappears from leaderboards and any badge it earned is withdrawn. If you delete your account, everything above goes with it.

3. Who else handles your data

We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They process data on our instructions in order to provide their service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.

ProviderWhat it does
Supabase Stores your account and all app data, and handles sign-in.
Render Runs the server the app talks to.
Vercel Hosts the website version of the app.
Resend Sends the emails the app has to send — confirming your address and resetting your password. Your email address is shared with Resend for that purpose only. We do not send marketing email.
Apple MapKit Draws the course map. Apple states that MapKit does not associate map data with a user's Apple Account.
OpenStreetMap / CARTO Supplies map imagery on the website version.

Course information — names, locations, pars, ratings and slopes — comes from public sources including OpenStreetMap. It is not personal data and is not derived from anything you do.

We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of a person or the integrity of the app.

4. Your choices and rights

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app: Profile → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent. It removes your profile, every round and hole-by-hole score, your reviews and votes, your rankings, your badges, your friendships, your match participation, and your login itself. We cannot recover a deleted account, so please be sure.

Other requests

You may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete specific items rather than the whole account. Email hello@tourcard.app and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Depending on where you live you may have specific legal rights — for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We extend the rights described above to everyone regardless of location, so you do not need to establish which law applies to make a request.

Location permission

Grant or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, or in your browser's site settings. The app works without it.

5. How long we keep things

We keep your account data until you delete your account. Deletion happens straight away, though routine backups held by our hosting providers may persist for a short period before they age out. Ordinary server logs, which record that a request happened, are retained briefly for security and reliability and are not used to build a profile of you.

6. Security

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit. Access to your account requires a signed token issued at sign-in, and the database enforces row-level access rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store payment details or government identifiers, which limits what an incident could expose.

7. Children

TourCard is intended for golfers aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email hello@tourcard.app and we will delete it.

8. Where your data is held

Our providers store data on servers in the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, you are sending your information there, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app. The address of this page will not change.
